Your Local Safeguarding Children Board
A coordinated approach and effective training of staff can help to improve safeguarding and reduce the opportunities for abuse.
For this reason, every area has a Local Safeguarding Children Board (LSCB), which aims to manage local work to safeguard and promote the welfare of children. The diagram opposite shows how LSCBs work. There is also a briefing paper to support you to think about how you might work effectively with LSCBs.
LSCBs have a remit to ensure training is provided. Get in touch with your LSCB and take advantage of their comprehensive multi-agency training, which is usually free. Although the courses may refer to children, the basic safeguarding principles are exactly the same.
