There are many opportunities for abuse to occur. Any situation may provide a potential opportunity.

The rise in the use of technologies like the internet and mobile phones provides new and different ways for abusers to target and groom learners. These communication technologies also offer opportunities for learners to abuse other learners. The effects of this can be devastating.

Your organisation's approach to safeguarding should consider this. Comprehensive policies, procedures and systems will help ensure a safer learning environment for learners.
