Introduction and Context

Ofsted

From September 2012 the limiting grade was removed from Safeguarding. This means Ofsted will no longer inspect safeguarding as a standalone area but will instead inspect it as a vital component of Leadership and Management. This in no way diminishes the importance of safeguarding.

Inspectors will make a judgement on the effectiveness of leadership and management by evaluating the extent to which leaders, managers and, where applicable, governors safeguard all learners. Download the documents opposite for more information about safeguarding and Ofsted.
