This training module is designed to raise your awareness of the Prevent duty for FE and to:

• ensure leaders and managers understand their own responsibilities, as well as those of teachers, trainers, tutors, support staff, board members and volunteers with respect to the Prevent duty. This includes agency and sub-contractors' staff
• provide some case studies and activities that help to support this process
• identify why you need to be aware of your and your institution's Prevent duties
• understand your specific role as a leader and/or manager
• understand what compliance with the Duty means for you and your institution
• demonstrate the importance of compliance and commitment across the whole of the organisation
• consult with students and staff on the implementation of the Duty

You should read through the training module. As you go through the module you may find it useful to make notes in response to the activities or to any other issues which are raised through the content and which you need to explore further within your organisation.

When you are confident of the content you will be able to take the Prevent duty awareness raising module assessment.
