What is a Prevent risk assessment?
The Prevent risk assessment should cover all aspects of a provider's work and you may be asked to contribute to one. The Prevent for Education and Training website provides a number of examples.
The following factors should be included in a risk assessment for an independent learning provider, a college or an adult education institution.
Senior staff are required to report on the risk assessment and action plan to the Board. The risk assessment and action plan should be robust and fit for purpose, and comply with the Prevent duty.
Activity
When did you last produce or contribute to a Prevent risk assessment and Prevent action plan? When was this last reviewed? Have all action points been implemented?
Which, if any, have you been asked to contribute to? Use your notepad to record any that are especially relevant to your work.
Have any important ones been omitted in your view? Again, use your notepad to record your thoughts.
If you have a role in the oversight of the Prevent risk assessment and action plans which of these are covered and are not covered in your risk assessment?
If you do not have oversight – which aspects of the risk assessment have you been asked to contribute to?
