About this unit
This unit considers the importance of ensuring the commitment of all members of staff to the creation and maintenance of a safer learning environment.
It will also look at why organisations should have a code of conduct, and the procedures to follow if a member of staff is suspected of behaving inappropriately.
By the end of this unit you will be able to:
- Explain the need for all staff to safeguard learners.
- Identify how staff can be involved in the development and review of the organisation's safeguarding policy and wider agenda.
- Describe ways to keep staff informed of the organisation's approach to safeguarding and the individual's responsibility.
- Show the importance and value of a code of conduct for all staff that gives clear guidance.
- Describe the explicit principles underpinning the code of conduct.
